Ferrous Scrap, Traded to ISRI Standard

HMS 1&2, shredded, and plate & structural grades moving from North American supply into regional mills — specified, inspected, and settled documentarily.

Overview

A disciplined book in a loosely specified market

Scrap is a market where specification discipline separates real trades from disputes. Aerisus brokers ferrous scrap under ISRI specifications — HMS 1&2 in standard 80:20 blend, shredded steel scrap, and plate & structural grades — with density, sizing, and contamination limits fixed in contract rather than assumed.

Cargo is inspected at loading for grade conformity and radiation, weighed by certified scales or draft survey, and settled against documents — the same discipline we apply to our sugar book.

Flows run primarily from U.S. collection networks into Latin American steel mills, containerized or in bulk depending on volume and destination infrastructure.
